Where Do I Go To Learn About eBay?

There's a lot of information out there in Cyberspace about eBay, I guess you might say there's no end to it.

eBay has become a part of life in some capacity -- be it your first experience with an interactive Web site, buying or selling online, finding treasured collectibles or like-minded collectors. eBay means different things to different people - not only in this country but around the world.

Somehow learning about how to sell on eBay has gotten mixed up with all sorts of advertising "get rich quick" schemes and scams. We've all seen the hype. We've all seen the claims & ads about instant riches and "secrets" no one else knows about. I know my email in-box has been bombarded with many questionable advertisements and offers. I've bought into many of them - only to end up back to square one.

How can you tell if you are being taken advantage of by affiliate marketers or purchasing products or items that you don't really need - rather than getting quality information and support that will help your business grow?

I hope I can help answer some of those questions and lead you in the right direction.

I started selling on eBay in 1998 - back in the days when I considered eBay to be like the wild, wild west. I started selling Beanie Babies, and yes I can hardly say "webkinz".

Today, I'm an Education Specialist Trained by eBay, and I teach classes on eBay in NYC. I teach the same curriculum that eBay University teaches when they tour the country. You can check out my classes here: Educational Specialist Trained by eBay

It's my job to keep up to date with eBay's policies. I like to teach people how to get the most out of eBay. I think it's my obligation to keep up with the latest trends, seek out the best tools of the trade, evaluate applications and third-party software programs, and keep learning myself. Most importantly, as in any other field, I seek out the brightest and most professional people to learn from.

Today I wanted to spotlight a new, premiere educational site I am very proud to be a part of.

It was started by Janelle Elms, an eBay University Instructor who is a never-ending source of knowledge about "Everything eBay". I first met Janelle when I went to see her teach in NYC. I was a new eBay instructor, and I wanted to see how the real "pros" taught the same courses I would be teaching. Janelle's class was outstanding, out-of-the-box and insightful. From that moment on, I knew I had found eBay's "Trainer's trainer".

You know how some people say a particular musician is a "Musician's musician" or that an artistis an "Artist's artist? Well, that's how I feel about Janelle, she's really a walking encyclopedia on eBay. It was about time someone taught from an academic point of view!

If you are serious about selling on eBay and want to learn how generate the best auctions, how to optimize your eBay Store (did you know 99% of all eBay Stores are not set up correctly?), how to market, source items, grow and expand, and... even develop a positive mindset to help overcome all those mental blocks and obstacles (my favorite topic), then take a look at Janelle's new educational Web Site. I want to see what it's like to be rockstar!

Her site was designed for those seeking help with their online eBay business. It's for everyone - people just starting out to gulp, big time Powersellers with all those stars next to their ID's.
